What is the Text Case Converter?

A case converter changes the capitalization of text without retyping it. Paste anything and click one of 12 styles: UPPERCASE, lowercase, Sentence case, Title Case, Capitalize Each Word, aLtErNaTiNg, iNVERSE cASE, camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case and CONSTANT_CASE. The text in the box is converted in place, so you can chain styles, then copy or download the result.

Title Case keeps short words such as a, an, the, and, but, of, in, on, to and for lowercase unless they start the title — a simplified headline style. Developer styles split words on spaces, punctuation and existing camelCase boundaries. Conversion runs in your browser.

How to use the Text Case Converter

  1. Paste or type your text in the box (an example sentence is loaded to start).
  2. Click a style button — e.g. Sentence case, Title Case or snake_case; the text changes instantly.
  3. Click another style to convert again if needed.
  4. Use Copy text or Download .txt to save the result, or Clear to start over.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Title Case and Capitalize Each Word?
Title Case leaves short articles, conjunctions and prepositions (a, an, the, and, but, or, of, in, on, to, by, for…) lowercase unless they are the first word. Capitalize Each Word capitalizes every word, including “and” and “the”.
Does Sentence case keep names and acronyms capitalized?
No. Sentence case and Title Case first lowercase everything, so names, “I” and acronyms such as NASA lose their capitals (NASA becomes Nasa in Title Case). Re-capitalize them after converting.
How do I convert text to camelCase or snake_case?
Paste the words, for example “user first name”, and click camelCase to get userFirstName, snake_case for user_first_name, kebab-case for user-first-name or CONSTANT_CASE for USER_FIRST_NAME. Punctuation between words is removed.
How do I fix text typed with Caps Lock on?
Click Sentence case for normal prose or lowercase for everything. If you held Shift while Caps Lock was on and got “hELLO wORLD”, iNVERSE cASE flips every letter back to “Hello World”.
Does it work with accented and non-English letters?
Yes. Conversions use Unicode case rules, so letters such as é, ñ, ü and Greek or Cyrillic characters change case correctly.
